Dust Bunnies.....DUST BUNNIES EVERYWHERE!!

So, alot has been happening since I last uploaded. LIFE in general has rewarded me with great fortune but also with massive heartbreak...

First off, Diana and I sold for the very first time this past AnimeExpo 2013!! It was such an amazing experience to sell and see the sights of the expo!! Haven't gone as a guest since '05!! I and was fortunate enough to sit to my best buds and seasoned sellers, Chris, James, Eddie, and Dimas. Place was cray-cray and crowded but we had tons of fun and went home with a CRAZY amount of profit!!

Also been taking classes at Concept Design Academy in Pasadena, focusing on Story-boarding still!! I missed school environments alot and I'm glad I'm continuing my education and goals!!

Shortly after these fun times, hardships came right away. My grandparent's pets were put to rest right after another. Just recently our dog, Baby, had to be put to sleep after having breathing problems. Our cat, Wally,  passed a week and a half ago with digestive problems. 

I was REALLY close to these companions since I lived with my grandparents on EastLA for most of my college years. Unlike Wally's passing, I was able to make it to the emergency clinic and hug Baby goodbye before he was put to sleep. It was a stressful night...

Not only did they love us but we loved them as much in return, especially with keeping my Grandpa with dementia company. I know they are at peace in heaven with my late Aunt Sylvia watching over them.

The only right thing to do now is to move on in a positive mood. I'll be paying more attention to my blog here so stay tuned!!

Visiting the Magic Kingdom

Long over due post, I know. Been busy finding part-time work and playing Kid Icarus. Which is exactly why I took my sketchbook with me this past week while looking for jobs for side-money. 

Discovering that hipster fashion is very interesting to draw....

Inspired

Today I was invited with 5 other students to attend the Thursday session of Disney's Inspire Days. 

Free bagles, behind the scenes on upcoming Disney shorts, an awesome tour around the studio, lunch/portfolio review with the Pro's, ERIC GOLDBERG, and meeting up with other schools was really INSPIRING.

Was then inspired when I got home to give color to this sketch I did of my friend Rachel.

At lunch in-between listening to Story Artists talk about portfolios, I drew these other students sitting at our table.

Life Drawing dump

Ugh, it's been a while since my last update. Haven't had much free time to get myself to a scanner so finally here's some life-drawing sketches that have been piling up in my clipboard.

I am really happy over some of these drawings. BIG THANKS to Chris Ybarra-llama and Tung Nguyen for helping me with rhythm and construction these past weeks. They directed me to view Dave Pimentel's, and Rad Sechrist's blogs on gesture drawing and helpful tips.   

First batch is from Dr. Sketchy's Life-Drawing workshop over at the studio I'm interning at; Titmouse Inc. The theme was "High School Football Rally".

2nd set is from CSUF's Pencil Mileage Club life-drawing nights.
